Wrexham's co-owner and Hollywood star Rob McElhenney sent a message to a Notts County fan in response to a number of messages targeting his club.

WHAT HAPPENED?
McElhenney sent a strong reply to an account of a Notts County fan who had tweeted: "If we get a few more additions. We are going to win the league."
Whilst it was probably not this one tweet which prompted McElhenney's response, but rather a collection of posts criticising Wrexham in recent days, it may appear a slight overreaction from the Red Dragons' co-owner.

WHAT MCELHENNEY SAID
In reply to the NottsCountyZone account, McElhenney said: "This continues to be one of my favorite accounts. No matter how many times you tell me to f*ck off I’ll still be a fan. In fact, my respect will only deepen with every eviscerating comment or aggressive silence. One day I hope to meet you @NottsCountyZone. Until then I’ll be here shoving my shite documentary up my arse. Happy New Year to you and yours!!!!"

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Wrexham and Notts County have been fierce rivals in the past couple of seasons, having fought for the National League title last season and now League Two this term. McElhenney's outburst may be a sign that the pressure it starting to tell at the top end of the table with just four points separating the two sides. If the tension gets any greater, the likelihood of McElhenney and NottsCountyZone ever meeting may become impossible.
